Question 1

Does the seller have to agree to the inspection?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The car has to be available and the seller has to allow a road test and a look underneath. Most sellers agree without hesitation — we contact them for you and keep it professional and quick. A seller who refuses an independent inspection is telling you something important.

Question 2

How long does an inspection take?

Accepted Answer

A Standard inspection takes about 90 minutes on site. A Comprehensive inspection runs two to three hours because it includes compression and leak-down testing on a lift at a partner shop.

Question 3

What if the seller refuses?

Accepted Answer

We try twice to schedule, document what happened, and tell you exactly what the seller said. If the inspection can't happen because of the seller, you get a full refund — you never pay for an inspection we couldn't perform.

Question 4

Do you inspect cars at dealerships?

Accepted Answer

We do, every week. Dealers are used to third-party inspections. If the dealer will only allow a shorter visit or won't permit a road test, we tell you before we go so you can decide.

Question 5

What if I need it tomorrow?

Accepted Answer

Same-day and next-day slots are often available. Book normally and note the timing in the special requests field — we confirm your window by email and text, usually within a couple of hours.

Question 6

Do you work on classics, EVs, and diesels?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Classics and high-value performance cars belong on the Comprehensive tier. EVs get a battery state-of-health readout and charging system check instead of a compression test. Diesels get glow plug, turbo, and DPF/emissions checks.

Question 7

What's not included?

Accepted Answer

We don't disassemble the vehicle, drop the transmission pan, remove interior trim, or pull the engine. We don't provide a title history report (get a VIN history separately), and we don't appraise or guarantee market value. Our report is a documented snapshot of condition on the day of inspection, not a warranty.

Question 8

Can you help me negotiate?

Accepted Answer

Every report includes an itemized repair list with estimated costs and specific negotiation points you can send straight to the seller. Customers routinely save more than the inspection cost on the first counter-offer.
